Denim pencil skirts are a must-have for Spring. They go well with all types of tops, from the sweater to turtleneck to t-shirst. One of the best ways to recycle a pair of jeans is to make a skirt out of it ! In the previous weeks, I have spotted many denim pencil skirts on the internet. By the way, they seem perfect to be worn at the office with heels but also in a more casual style. Today, I’m going to show you how to make a denim pencil skirt.
With each change of season, I tend to sort through my current wardrobe. There are always some clothes I have to give away because of the wrong shape. My Winter wardrobe is minimal; there was only one piece that I had to put in the “Upcycle Me Please” pile: these jeans (thanks “Mom jeans” effect) from Pimkie.
This year, I want to shop for more second-hand clothes and upcycle my old clothes.
That’s why buying a brand new pair of jeans is a big No-No. I decided to check online what type of denim skirts were trendy at the moment. Surprise, the modern denim pencil skirt from 2020 looks like a pair of jeans that has been upcycled into a skirt. It’s easy to notice because of the triangle shape at the bottom of the skirt. Let’s have a look !
Those four denim skirts are the inspiration for this DIY. There is no limit to what type of denim pencil skirt you can create, it’s put to you! I want the upcycled skirt to be wearable in a professional and casual environment. That’s why I’m going to forget about the distressing jeans.
